Project Description

BEST BY DOING project is direct at thermal tourism, an economic segment that is growing faster than others, and therefore needs more and more specialized and high quality services. The OECD in 2010 has stressed the fact thathigh quality education and training systems are key to the success and strengthening of employment in Europe and that, in addition to technical skills, it is essential to develop soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving and learning skills, which are increasingly important in the working environment.

The project therefore stems from the assumption that lack of work-based experience (such as apprenticeship, “Alternanza scuola-lavoro” model, internship) and related knowledge, skills and competences are one of the factors contributing to the “preparation gap” in the EU today.

The labour market of the future will be increasingly inaccessible for non-skilled people (and in particular young people): “curricular” training seems to be no longer adequate. Students need excellence in training to express excellence in their professions. This excellence must be provided and guaranteed by schools and recognised by companies according to European quality standards.
